Accenture and Cable & Wireless are to team up to offer management consultancy and e-business solutions as part of the £80m outsourcing deal between the two organisations announced today.
The agreement will cover Cable & Wireless’ global range of communications and e-business services as well as Accenture’s management consulting and outsourcing services designed for large corporate customers.
The outsourcing deal will be a five-year contract to provide an outsourced accounts receivable function and human resources support for Cable & Wireless in the UK and US.
The accounts applications will include new SAP-based offerings designed to improve Cable and Wireless’ cash flow management and help the company reduce working capital requirements. The agreement includes transfer of 135 accounts positions to Accenture.
As part of the deal e-peopleserve, acting as a sub-contractor to Accenture, will provide the telecoms company with HR administration, learningand professional development services, assume C&W?s resourcing/recruiting function, handle its payroll services and run day-to-day HR operations. Some 93 HR roles will transfer to e-peopleserve, a joint venture between Accenture and British Telecom.
Cable & Wireless executive HR vice-president Avery Duff said: ‘This outsourcing agreement is not simply about generating cost efficiencies but about transforming our operations to achieve world-class performance levels.’ Links
