PBR 09: Darling defers small business tax hike

850,000 small businesses given a reprieve from corporation tax rise

Alistair Darling has shelved plans to raise the rate of corporation tax for
small businesses, benefiting 850,000 companies.

The rise from 21% to 22% had been scheduled to come in next year, but the
Chancellor announced this has been deferred.
