    E&Y facing legal challenge from truckmaker

    US truckmaker appeals against ruling firm was not liable for audit work at British truck manufacturer, ERF

    Ernst & Young is facing the threat of a major legal battle after
    Freightliner, the world’s biggest
    truckmaker, launched an appeal against a High Court decision, which ruled in
    favour of the Big Four firm over audit work done at
    British
    truckmaker ERF    ,

    According to the Financial Times, the appeal stems from the
    long-running legal claim brought by
    Germany’s MAN against
    Freightliner, in which MAN has alleged it was fraudulently induced to purchase
    ERF from Canada’s Western Star, another truckmaker that merged into
    Freightliner.

    Freightliner is part of the DaimlerChrysler group.
