In council elections, Perkin, finance director at St George’s Health Care NHS Trust, was standing against incumbent treasurer and former Halifax deputy chief executive Gren Folwell who retained his position. Perkin has heavily criticised CIPFA for promoting the institute’s training as portable from public to private sector.
