The Chancellor is to announce the first major overview of PFI projects in his
Budget speech today, the FT reported this morning.
In recommitting to the programme, he will say that an ‘operational taskforce’
is to be set up to help public authorities to get the best out of the projects.
Despite cutbacks in the hospital programme, there is to be £26bn worth of PFI
project work signed in the next four to five years, the newspaper reports.
