Alchemex adapts Sage using SaaS

Sage's discontinuation of Intelligent Reporting opens up new venture for Alchemex

Alchemex, a software company that specialises in Excel financial reporting,
has taken its first steps towards integrating cloud computing by launching a
free monthly management service to Sage 50 users available online.

The move means that Alchemex will now provide a software as a service (SaaS)
adaption of its current Excel-based reporting conversion application through
www.mymonthlyreports.com. The service will take monthly transaction data
uploaded into Sage 50 and convert it automatically into balance reports in
Excel,
accounting
web
reported.

The management service not only converts data from Sage 50 but also from
MYOB, Xero and other accounting software.

The launch of the site was brought forward a couple of months due to the
discontinuation of Sage Intelligent Reporting.

Gary Boddington, Alchemex managing director said: ‘It came as quite a
surprise when Sage discontinued Intelligent Reporting and while the market was
licking its wounds, we thought we might as well jump into the breach and provide
something as an alternative. It forced our hand – but only by a month or two.’
