Customs & Excise
Customs & Excise has announced details of a successful prosecution of a Yorkshire newsagent for selling smuggled alcohol. The newsagent had his Lottery terminal withdrawn as well as his alcohol licence.
The duty on ultra low sulphur petrol (ULSP) has been cut by 1p a litre.

The Tax Faculty has been admitted into the Confederation Fiscale Europeenne (CFE), the European tax advisers’ association.
The Tax Faculty has published its comments (as TAXREP 31/00) on the draft Capital Allowances Bill prepared by the Tax Law Rewrite team.
