ACCA unveils membership increase
ACCA has announced an 8% increase in membership figures for the period ended 1999, with more female members than ever for the under 25 age bracket.
The association now has around 72,000 members worldwide with the majority of new members coming from China, Russia and Eastern Europe.
In Hong Kong, ACCA increased its number of members by more than 1,000 to 11,138, while the association added 12% to its number of Malaysian students and now has 4,601 nembers.
Other major growth areas were 81% in the Czech Republic, 55% in Poland and 53% in China.
Numbers of new female members climbed dramatically last year while 58% of affiliates – students who have passed their exams but must comply with work experience criteria before being admitted – were also women.
