Not content with sorting out central government’s auditing and accountability plans, he now finds himself tasked with preparing a report for the Lib Dems on the foot-and-mouth crisis.
The former KPMG chairman has been asked to ‘conduct an authoritative inquiry into the scale of consequential loss and appropriate measures to remedy (the loss)’.
And he won’t have to rely simply on his experience as former head of a Big Five firm, where he was continually having to sort out partners suffering from foot-in-mouth syndrome.
As Farmin’ Sharman currently lives on a farm in Wiltshire he should be well placed to give first-hand tips on the cost of the crisis.
