LibDems appoint new 'shadow chancellor'
Matthew Taylor, the Liberal Democrat treasury spokesman and 'shadow chancellor', has been replaced in a reshuffle by party leader Charles Kennedy.
The new ‘shadow chancellor’ is former trade and industry spokesman Vincent Cable.
Cable’s post is filled by veteran Malcolm Bruce who returns to the LibDem front bench team after a spell on the backbenches.
He is a former Treasury spokesman and Party chairman.
Truro and St Austell MP Taylor becomes chairman of the parliamentary party and will co-author the general election manifesto with party policy director Dr Richard Grayson.
