The US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has appointed Esslie Hughes and former PricewaterhouseCoopers partner Paul Bijou to head its New York inspections office.
The office, which only opened last month, will be the base for inspections of registered accounting firms.
Hughes will serve as director for the New York office while Bijou will lead the inspections team. Hughes worked in commercial banking for more than 20 years with The Bank of New York, European American Bank and Bankers Trust Company.
Bijou is a former PwC partner and previously led its New York practice.
