Weir Group said the 46 year-old Rickard was chosen for his extensive experience. He will join the group as an executive director on 19 January 2004 before taking over the finance director role. The current Director, Ian Boyd, will retire after 35 years with the Group.
The group’s chief executive, Mark Selway said: ‘Chris comes to Weir with theextensive experience required as we continue with our ambitious programme toachieve world class standards across the group, providing shareholder value inthe process.’
Rickard was previously director of corporate finance for Elementis and director of group financial planning for The Morgan Crucible Co.
According to Meggitt, Rickard will stay on until the year-end to ensure an orderly handover to his successor.
