ACCA council member Robert Jackson, and three other partners at his Manchester firm, Thomson Morely Jackson, are understood to have withdrawn an appeal lodged against a #25,000 penalty imposed on them by an association disciplinary committee.
A fine of #5,000 and costs of #20,000 were imposed after they were found guilty of backdating Norwich Union share applications to get free shares.
The other partners involved were David Wainwright, Andrew Brown and Ernest Thomson.
None of the partners was available for comment, although their legal advisers indicated they would make a statement next week.
