SAP to streamline finance and carbon management software

Accountancy software provider SAP has acquired Clear Standards, a carbon
management technology company which is to be incorporated across all its
products.

Clear Standard will be adapted so that it can extract financial data held in
SAP products such as Business Suite 7, to provide businesses with measurements
on green house gas emissions as well as other environmental impacts.

SAP co-chief executive officer, Léo Apotheker, said: ‘It is essential that
organisations gain actionable insight into their carbon emissions, water
consumption, energy use and other environmental factors so they can lower their
environmental impact.’

‘With the acquisition of Clear Standards, we will accelerate our vision to
deliver a complete set of solutions to enable end-to-end sustainable businesses’
he added.

The deal took place in New York, will see all SAP products adapted to
incorporate Clear Standards at a later date.
