Bennett to hand over to deputy FD Dave Jones when he retires

Bob Bennett, the finance director of FTSE 100 mortgage lender Northern Rock,
has announced his retirement.

Bennett will be replaced by his deputy Dave Jones, who beat off competition
from external candidates to land the role. Bennett will hand over to Jones at
the beginning of February next year.

Northern Rock chairman Dr Matt Ridley saluted Bennett for his ‘many years of
valuable service’ to the company and the key role he played in floating the
business in 1997.
