Lloyds lines up Weir for FD

Lloyds TSB is set to hire Helen Weir as its new FD, filling the post left empty when Philip Hampton unexpectedly resigned in January.

The appointment could be confirmed as early as next Monday, to coincide with news of the bank’s annual results, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Weir is on the market after stepping down as FD of European DIY retail giant Kingfisher, a post which provided the biggest pay packet for any woman in the City.

Lloyds TSB declined to comment on rumours of the 41-year-old’s likely appointment.
