Phoqus the oral
drug delivery and development company, has announced that its CFO Peter Johnson
will take over the executive reins on an interim basis following the resignation
of CEO Andy Jones.
AIM-listed business reported
that Jones was stepping down from the board and leaving to pursue interests
outside of the company.
Phoqus said in a statement: ‘Andy Jones has held his position at Phoqus since
May 2003, leading the company through a successful IPO in November 2005. Both
Andy and the board now consider it is appropriate for a new chief executive to
take the company to the next stage of its development.’
Johnson has been with Phoqus as CFO since 2000. Prior to Phoqus, he worked
at FD level for over 15 years and has held positions at
National Air Traffic Services
Ltd, the Royal Hull Hospital Trust and Vickers Medical International.
Phoqus chairman Dr Edwin Moses added: ‘On behalf of the board, I would like
to acknowledge Andy’s contribution during a period when the company has evolved
from a technology start-up into a commercial business. We now seek a successor
with the right credentials and experience to take the company through the next
stage of its development.’
