Campaign looks to promote OMBs

A new £20m initiative to help owner managed businesses, launched in Birmingham today, is aimed at harnessing the skills, energy and creativity of the private sector.

According to Steve Pipe, chairman of The National Campaign, and former Accountancy Age Entrepreneur of the Year, compared to other countries ‘we simply don’t have enough [owner managed businesses]’ and those we do are underperforming.

The campaign will be operated through accountant network AVN, of which Pipe is director. The £20m initiative is spread over five years and is made up of ‘time, money and resources’.
