A recent tax software conference at the ICAEW’s London headquarters was brightened up by a Microsoft official who stood up to give a speech on the merits of the company. The talk was to have been aided by a short film – driven by Microsoft software – until disaster struck. The film broke down and wouldn’t play for several minutes and when it did finally work, the sound was inaudible throughout. Let’s hope Microsoft’s newly launched accounting software is more reliable.
