Richardson to serve as non-exec at Restaurant Group

Ex-Whitbread FD takes non-executive directors' role at restaurant operator, which includes a seat on the audit committee
The Restaurant Group
has announced the appointment of David Richardson to
its board as a non-executive director as of 1 February 2007.
Richardson,who retired as
Whitbread’s FD in 2005
after being appointed in March 2001, is currently a NED at Serco Group, Dairy
Crest, Tomkins and
Forth Ports.
As part of his new role, he will also be a member of the remuneration, audit
and nomination committees for the
FTSE 250 company, which is
one of the largest independent restaurant groups in the country with around 240
restaurants including the popular Garfunkel’s and Blubeckers brands.
Chairman Alan Jackson commented: ‘We are delighted that David will be joining
us. He has much experience of the UK leisure market and in particular the
restaurant market. His appointment will serve to strengthen The Restaurant
Group’s board and we look forward to his wise counsel and contribution to our
successful business.’
