US firm sets up European operations
US financial services group RSM McGladrey has set up an international tax
consulting firm based in the UK.
The firm, to be known as RSM McGladrey UK, is the result of an agreement with
Munich-based RSM Hemmelrath Gruppe, which should be completed in July.
The new firm will provide international tax and cross-border transaction
support for business in seven European countries as well as China.
‘Our aim is to have high caliber tax, law and financial specialists in major
countries outside of the United States to offer our clients a multidisciplinary
service approach,’ RSM McGladrey president Steve Tait, said in a statement.
‘Establishing RSM McGladrey UK marks the first step toward that goal,’ he said.
The chief executive of Hemmelrath Gruppe, Alexander Hemmelrath, will be
appointed the executive managing director of RSM McGladrey UK.
McGladrey, is a subsidiary of H&R Block Inc, ranked sixth biggest on
Accounting Today’s 2006 list of Top 100 Firms, with revenues of $1.2n (£652m).
