Sunday[QQ] Flew to Moscow to support our new Russian distributor, VDEL, which is holding a press conference to announce the alliance with ACCPAC. Called HQ in California to participate in long conference call about European and worldwide strategies. Next, dinner with VDEL to discuss the press conference. Food was good, but Moscow is one hell of an expensive destination. Weather as expected (-22C) – no wonder these guys drink vodka!
Monday
Press conference was a success, with more than 50 journalists! We also had reseller prospects – some of which our distributor signed up on the spot. We’ll celebrate tonight.
Tuesday
Back in London. Found 141 emails in my in-box! Midday, and a lunch meeting with our UK account manager to look at our channel recruitment strategy, which is finally paying off. He tells me we’ll have at least six new UK value-added resellers this month. Next stop: accountancy firms.
Wednesday
Met some IT analysts. Discussion was good. Their proposal … very pricey.
Flew to Rotterdam to attend a trade show. Spoke to our PR agency, which arranged for a couple of press interviews.
Thursday
Trade show is OK – not very busy but some serious prospects. Decided the team can handle it. Asked the office to book flight and hotel in Nicosia after arranging weekend meetings. Spoke to two journalists about ‘ASP and the UK accounting software market.’ Went well. Spoke to our development team about the French version – at last the project will be finalised soon. Now, need to find an account manager for France.
Friday
Met with our marketing manager to go over marketing projects: seminars, trade shows, advertising campaigns. Got the new corporate identity document. New logo looks so much better!
Finished the afternoon with another long call to California to talk about Q3 sales projections. Off to the airport to catch my Cyprus flight. Looking to sign up some potential value-added resellers (VARs). Can’t believe there are so many in Cyprus!
