For the first time the IMC is opening its doors to public and private organisations to become members. By joining the IMC as an Organisational Affiliate, corporate bodies will help develop a powerful new dimension to the IMC’s work and be able to engage in sharing best practice on buying and using consultancy service and in creating policy and new services.
Bodies will be invited to create the Consultants User Forum, which will be exclusively for client organisations. As an Organisational Affiliate they will be able to join and debate with a range of organisations from large consultancy practices, business schools and training providers as well as individual members.
As the IMC has learnt from its research into their views, many consultant users are new to managing consultants. It is often only one part of their job and guidance in choosing and using consultants is welcomed. Their views will also benefit consultants as the IMC learns from their experience.
Each organisation will be able to nominate five individuals who will benefit from members’ rates at Regional and Special Interest Group meetings, IMC publications and guidance in choosing and using management consultants, as well as access to the free legal helpline and an arbitration process.
If you can recommend a client organisation that you believe would benefit from being an IMC Organisational Affiliate, please contact Wendy Gerber, IMC membership registrar. Alternatively, we have leaflets on the scheme that you could pass to clients.
