Battle for life assurer finance role goes to form as frontrunner Nish joins Standard Life
David Nish, former Scottish Power finance director, has been announced as
Group Finance Director for Standard
Life within the last hour.
The FTSE 100 company had refused to discuss the candidates vying for the plum
role, but Nish had long been touted as the favourite.
He replaces Alison Reed, who stepped down from the Board as of this
morning. Reed had been in place to oversee the life assurer’s flotation.
Nish takes her place as FD from tomorrow (1 November).
The former finance boss at
Scottish Power
was dropped from the board last year before accepting the position of
infrastructure director at the company.
Sir Brian Stewart, chairman of Standard Life, said: ‘David is an excellent
addition to the Board. He brings extensive experience as a finance director with
broad skills from working with major UK-listed companies.’
