Plans to streamline VAT administration have been met with scepticism and the belief they do not go far enough to help small businesses, according to a survey.
Of the accountants questioned by the UK200 Group of Chartered Accountants, 77% believe the government has not done enough to simplify VAT administration while 54% gave Gordon Brown a below average rating for efforts to help small business.
