Taking Stock - E&Y scotch joke hits the rocks.

As news emerged that Ernst & Young had decided to withdraw its students from the English ICA’s training scheme, a rival institute (TS has agreed not to mention which!) was holding its council meeting. At this aforementioned meeting, a raffle sponsored by E&Y took place with a bottle of brandy as the prize. But the compere joked it would have been more suitable if the prize had been a bottle of scotch. Nobody laughed. TS can only assume delegates had not had time to read about the impending move of E&Y’s students to the Scots ICA.
