TakingStock - HSBC's work life lesson ... on Sunday.

You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.[QQ] That’s the sad conclusion for HSBC Bank who discovered in a recent survey of thousands of businesses that managers believe they are working longer hours than ever before and experience more pressure.

The solution? HSBC kindly set up a flash new piece of software supplying invoice financing over the internet. Sounds like a great time saver?

Well it would have been if HSBC hadn’t discovered people were logging on at 8am and on Sundays. You just can’t help some people.

Mind you the survey also revealed managers think the dandy new technology is only increasing their workload. Perhaps HSBC should have read the results a little more carefully themselves.
