Big Four and BDO named as top places where women want to work in high-flyers poll
Five firms have enjoyed a major presence in a poll identifying the top 50
organisations where women want to work.
The Big Four and BDO Stoy Hayward were selected in the survey, compiled by
The Times and Aurora, a corporate employer brand and recruitment
advertising business that helps companies attract female candidates.
Entry to the Top 50 was open to private public and academic organisations,
providing they had more than 1,000 employees in the UK. Businesses were then
assessed in ten categories including Inspiring Leaders, Accountability, Employee
Satisfaction and Training & Development.
The list purposely did not assign a pecking order for firms because a number
of factors had to be taken into account.
Aurora’s chief executive Glenda Stone told The Times: ‘It is a myth
to believe that there is one organisation that is best for women. The Top 50
intentionally lists the 50 most progressive employers in alphabetical order.
What one woman values in her employer maybe different from another.
‘The needs of a woman returning from maternity leave with a six-month old
baby are different to a recently graduated single childless woman or a senior
manager with her eye on a boardroom position. All will value different
organisations for different will be different reasons.’
