Lake, 35, will join the company from book publishers Hodder Headline, owned by WH Smith Group, where he is group financial controller.
Prior to joining Hodder Headline in 1994, Lake was group management accountant at The Hartstone Group and senior financial accountant at Unipart Group of Companies. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young.
