Zafar Khan to take over as FD of Associated British Ports
Zafar Khan is set to take the finance reins at
Associated British Ports.
Khan, who joined the ABP in March 2002, will succeed Richard Adam in the role
of group FD from March.
Before joining ABP, Khan served as acting group financial controller at FLAG
Telecom. He has also served as group chief accountant with BBA, and qualified
with Ernst & Young.
‘Zafar has played an important role in the development of ABP over the past
five years, and I am confident in his ability to lead the finance function, in
support of the next stage of the group’s development,’ said Adam.
ABP came out top in the Business Annual Report of the Year award at this
week’s Accountancy Age Awards event. The
group was recently taken over in a £2.4bn deal by a Goldman Sachs-led
consortium.
