PeopleSoft sacks Andersen in the US

PeopleSoft, the IT company, has fired Andersen in the US as its auditor and replaced the firm with KPMG.

The change will come as yet another blow to Andersen as it awaits the verdict in the trial in which the firm is charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice.

A statement from PeopleSoft said: ‘The decision to change auditors was not the result of any disagreement between the company and Arthur Andersen on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure.’
