Pannell Kerr Foster is claiming victory this week after a landmark ruling for VAT on direct mail marketing. Acting for Direct Marketing Bureau in Leeds, PKF argued at a VAT tribunal that mail supplied by financial services companies were ‘mailing packs’ and therefore zero rated instead of ‘advertising services’ which are standard rated. The firm believes it has saved its client #250,000 a year and much more for the industry.
