    Geac wins IT finance contract with high-flying oil company Cairn

    Enterprise software company Geac has won a contract to deliver a financial solution to oil and gas exploration company Cairn Energy.

    The software, known as Geac Performance Management, integrates budgeting, forecasting and monthly financial reporting processes. The system is expected to be ready for testing in March.

    Scottish-based Cairn Energy discovered what is expected to be the biggest oil find this year in India. It shares soared to a value of 585p, from 361.75 after the find.

    Geac recently launched Geac Performance Management, an integrated product line that ‘melds’ two software suites acquired through its recent purchase of software companies Comshare and Extensity.
