British Telecom's 'Big Number' change, set for April, could cost business up to £1bn.
British Telecom's 'Big Number' change, set for April, could cost business up to £1bn.
The warning has been issued by Number Master, a British software information cleaning solutions provider, which estimates that between 30-50% of an average customer’s customer records will need converting.
Around 180 codes and rules will be changed under the new system, which represents the most complex set of code changes ever.
However, the company claims it can help cut the cost with a free software diagnostic tool, downloadable from the internet which can gauge the size of the Big Number issue and the cost to rectify the change.
The tool is available from www.numbermaster.com.
