The chancellor Gordon Brown has finally announced the date of his pre-Budget report.
He will deliver his statement to the House of Commons on 8 November.
It had seemed that Brown would unveil the details of his report on 31 October, but after playing his cards close to his chest for the last fortnight, the date was finally revealed.
