Scottish energy company makes Big Four switch

Dual-listed ScottishPower has ditched PricewaterhouseCoopers in favour of Big
Four rival Deloitte.

The deal is major loss for PwC and a big gain for Deloitte, with the audit
generating fees of £19m for the last three years.

In 2005, PwC pocketed £2.4m for the statutory audit alone and a further £3.9m
for supplementary services such as compliance advice, the Herald
reported.

It’s the second major coup for Deloitte, having captured Royal Bank of
Scotland – also from PwC – at the turn of the decade.

Last year Deloitte, received a total of £24.3m in fees from RBS.
