Club fails to expand

Grant Thornton partners Martin Ellis, David Thurgood and Malcolm Shierson have been appointed administrators to bar-nightclub operator Po Na Na following an application from its directors to the High Court.

The clubs, which were heralded as an alternative to nightclubs, had earnings of £2.5m last year. Po Na Na suffered from a funding shortfall after expanding into northern towns and failing to secure extra funding from its backers.
