Ex-Financial Times finance chief says I do to Yahoo
Yahoo! Europe has today announced the appointment of ex-Financial Times finance chief John Davis to the newly-created position of Group Finance Director.
Yahoo! Europe has today announced the appointment of ex-Financial Times finance chief John Davis to the newly-created position of Group Finance Director.
He will be responsible for finance throughout Europe reporting to Fabiola Arredondo, Managing Director, Yahoo! Europe.
Included within this remit will be overall responsibility for corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, taxation, treasury, human resources and legal affairs.
Davis joins from the Financial Times Group, the information division of Pearson plc, where he was the first Group Finance Director at the formation of the Group.
During his time he led a number of acquisitions and disposals, and concluded several joint ventures that enhanced the positioning of the Group as a global information player.
Previously he was Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Pearson Inc. based in New York.
Prior to joining Pearson, he held a number of positions at EMAP plc including that of Director of Corporate Finance and Treasury and also EMAP Radio Finance Director.
Fabiola Arredondo, managing director, Yahoo! Europe said: ‘We are delighted to welcome John to the team. He will play an important part in the continued development of our rapidly growing business in Europe.’
Yahoo! Europe comprises the local Yahoo! sites for the UK & Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
