Aviva FD Philip Scott has been appointed as Diageo’s new audit committee
On his appointment to the board on 17 October 2007, he will head the
audit committee and become a member of the nomination committee and
He replaces former Astra Zeneca CFO Jonathan Symonds who retired as chairman
of the audit committee this morning after serving a three-year term as a
non-executive director. Symonds officially retires by from Diageo’s board at the
company’s AGM on 16 October 2007.
The NYSE-quoted corporate said that Symonds would also not be seeking a
further term on the board after taking up his new role at Goldman Sachs in order
to comply with US audit committee independence standards.
