PBR 09: Chancellor confirms Inheritance Tax threshold freeze

Darling announces individual’s IHT to be frozen at £325,000

The Chancellor has confirmed in today’s pre-Budget report that he is not
raising the IHT allowance of £325,000 for individuals, or £650,000 for married
couples.

Married couples will still be able to combine their allowances, but raising
this allowance cannot be a priority given the state of the economy, the
Chancellor said.
