CMG/SAP
CMG is increasing its intake of consultants with SAP experience, after becoming a SAP Global Service Provider (EMEA). The partnership will see CMG set up a formal SAP practice that will support joint worldwide projects.
Cap Gemini Ernst & Young/Norkom Technologies
CGE&Y has entered into a partnership with analytical applications provider Norkom to launch a new money laundering detection system. The contract combines CGE&Y’s knowledge of financial services, regulation and systems integration with Norkom’s software, Norkom Alchemist.
Accenture/Thomas Cook
Accenture has won a 10-year deal worth over $170m, to create a shared service centre that will manage finance and IT for Thomas Cook. The outsourcing arrangement sees Accenture focus on the management of service delivery and performance of the centre, while the travel company retains control over strategy, policy and investment. Approximately 400 Thomas Cook employees will join Accenture as part of the deal, working in both the IT and finance areas.
IBM/MmO2
IBM has been awarded a 10-year deal to provide and manage IT systems for MmO2 customers. The deal, worth #50m in the first year, sees IBM integrate existing legacy systems and support voice, text and mobile Internet markets.
Paragon Software Systems/Consignia
Paragon Software Systems has been chosen to provide Consignia with routing and scheduling software. The deal covers all Consignia’s brands, including Parcelforce and Royal Mail, and provides street level vector maps and enhanced map displays for visualising the planned routes.
Knowledge Management Software/First Data Europe
Card transaction processor First Data Europe has placed an order for KMS’s Domain Knowledge software. The solution provides 160 referral staff with enhanced internal accessibility to client-related information through a web-based browser, followed by rollout to the company’s intranet.
NetDespatch/Amtrak Express Parcels
Web-based transport and logistics services company NetDespatch has won a £200,000, three-year contract with Amtrak. The deal sees NetDespatch provide hosted web services through Amtrak’s back office systems.
Vanco/Ford
Vanco has been chosen to supply an e-security solution for Ford’s European dealer and manufacturing partners. The one-year rolling agreement sees Vanco implement and manage firewall solutions through NetScreen technology, enabling all Ford’s trading partners to send and receive protected information.
CODA/Debenhams
Department store chain Debenhams has placed an order for CODA’s financial solution, encompassing accounting, sales reporting and financial analytics. The solution will be rolled out to all 97 UK stores.
Plasmon/Siemens Medical
Data storage company Plasmon has entered into a deal with Siemens Medical, a healthcare equipment provider, to offer optical archival storage. Plasmon’s NAS Archive Server solution will be developed in co-operation with Siemens, to interface with the Sienet MagicStore, which will provide automated management of the optical archive.
Synstar/British Energy
Synstar has been awarded a #600,000, three-year contract to provide IT support across 10 British Energy (BE) sites across the UK. The IT services company will provide maintenance support for technical workstations used to assist in the management of BE’s power stations. Logica/SAP/GPU Power UK
Logica has implemented a SAP product lifestyle management solution for electricity distributor GPU, as part of a key asset management transformation programme. The system allows GPU to integrate processes and systems that gather and analyse high quality, accurate information about its distribution assets.
KPMG Consulting/Mercator Software
KMPG Consulting is using Mercator Software to integrate the back-end operating systems of Clearing and Payment Service (CAPS), a joint venture company formed by three of Singapore’s largest banks. The solution should enable CAPS to offer clients greater efficiency and return on their technology investment.
Macro 4/Captiva Software Corporation
Macro 4 has entered into a European-wide technology partnership with information capture software specialist Captiva,, which should enable customers to speed-up document-intensive business processes. The deal combines Macro 4 ‘s document management and delivery software suite, Columbus, with Captiva’s information capture software.
