Brown too busy for traditional post-Budget breakfast

Chancellor Gordon Brown will not be making his customary post-Budget breakfast address to an accountancy firm this year.

Last year Brown addressed a Deloittes Budget breakfast but a tight schedule means he will not be making a similar speech this year.

Brown has to attend European council of ministers meeting in Lisbon on Thursday and Treasury officials have set Wednesday aside for the chancellor to give media interviews.
