E&Y called in at Swallow Group

Move affects over 7,000 employees

Ernst & Young has been appointed administrator for The London and
Edinburgh Swallow Group, which runs Swallow Hotels and London and Edinburgh Inns
across the UK.

The move has affected 671 sites and around 7,300 employees.

Angela Swarbrick, one of the joint administrators, said they were continuing
to trade the various companies on a ‘business as usual’ basis while explore the
possibility of a sale of the businesses and their assets as going concerns.

The group said the companies have for some time struggled in the face of
increasing heavy losses.
