PwC Ireland creates pay cut calculator

Work out how much you will be paid by year's end

After being hit with a 10 per cent pay cut in a bid to avoid redundancies,
staff at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Ireland have decided to create a tool where
people can assess the effects of their latest pay cut.

The news comes in the wake of accountancy firms taking drastic steps to
reduce their wage bills, mooting options for a four-day week, and offering
voluntary redundancies and sabbaticals.

The Irish Independent reported the calculator is genuine, and is available at
http://www.pwc.com/ie/budget2009/budget_calculator.html.
