Internet trading guidance to be issued by Customs

Small and medium sized enterprises are to be given online guidance on electronic commerce by Customs and Excise.

The departmnent will produce guidance on the VAT considerations SMEs must take into account when trading over the internet.

‘Our key aim is to produce the right level of information in the most user-friendly way,’ Customs said. Officials are looking for comments from SMEs on what aspects of VAT they would like the guidance to cover as well as any related subjects they would welcome advice on.
