Ex-KPMG board member to chair law firm

Alan Benzie new chairman of legal firm DWF

North West legal firm DWF has appointed
chartered accountant and former KPMG former regional chief, Alan Benzie, as its
new chairman.

Benzie will replace John Paton, who is to stand down after nine years in the
role. 

Benzie is a former northern chairman and UK board member of KPMG and is also
chairman of construction company David
McLean Group
and deputy chairman of
London Scottish Bank.

The firm saw fee income soar by almost half (47%) for 2006-07 to reach £50m,
while partner profits climbed 12% to hit £370,000, Legal Week reported.
