    Baker Tilley takes on the Potters

    Top ten accountancy firm Baker Tilley is to open a new office in Stoke-on-Trent.

    The firm will take over a substantial part of KPMG’s operations in the area and will benefit from over £3m of client income. Five partners will head up the operation with specialists in tax, VAT and corporate finance.

    Alan Benzie, chairman of KPMG in the North said: ‘After 38 years in the Potteries’ it is with sadness that we have decided to transfer these [larger] clients and certain staff to our full-service office in Manchester.’

    Remaining smaller regional clients will be taken over by Baker Tilley.
