JOB TO DIE FOR: Bank of England FD

Warwick Jones will take up the reins as finance director at
the Bank of England following the retirement of Clifford Smout. Jones
will also take on the mantle of executive director and member of the executive
team at the Bank. He joins from Singer & Friedlander, a specialist banking
group, where he was group finance director and chief operating officer. Jones’
has previously held senior financial positions in Lloyds TSB, Hill Samuel Bank
and Bradford & Bingley.

Jeremy Clarke-Morris joins Kendall Wadley as head
of its tax department. Formerly with Grant Thornton, Clarke-Morris has over 13
years experience in tax having started his career at the Inland Revenue.

Richard Godmon is to become a tax partner at
Menzies. Godmon, who is to head up the corporate tax team in the firm’s
Portsmouth office, has spent the last six years as director of tax consultancy
at Tenon.

Miho Endo has broken the CIMA exam record by passing six
managerial level papers in one sitting, achieving an average pass mark of 63%.
London School of Business chief executive Aaron Etingen: ‘Miho is a
very brave student to attempt six CIMA papers in one sitting.’

Michael Needham has been recruited to Mitchell
Charlesworth
as a tax manager. Neeham has worked as a tax senior with
Wilson Henry Partnership for the six years. He has also previously worked at
Deloitte & Touche and Kidsons Impey in his 14-year career.

Simon Sheaf has been appointed actuarial director at
Grant Thornton. Sheaf, who will focus on providing consulting and
modelling capabilities in areas such as due dilligence, was formerly with St
Paul Travelers Insurance Company as its head of the actuarial department.

Kingston Smith LLP, General Practice / Audit Manager, Hayes, £40 –
45k

The role involves, thorough planning of an assignment, briefing the trainees and
finalisation of accounts and subsequent submission to Inland Revenue and
Companies House. Ideally you will be (ACA / ACCA) qualified and have experience
working within a practice environment for clients with a turnover in excess of
£10million.

Foundation Housing, Resource Director, Leeds, £35 – £40K
You will have strategic and operational responsibility for Foundation’s
central support functions including Finance, HR, ICT, Facilities and
Administration. You will have at least 3 years experience as a financial manager
at a senior level and a CCAB recognised qualification.
