The winner of this year’s Recruitment Consultancy of the Year Award is Morgan
Law.

Standing against a high-calibre shortlist of Michael Page, Reed and Robert
Half International, Morgan Law triumphed in this reader-voted category. Based in
London and Bristol, Morgan Law specialises in accounting and finance, human
resources, PR and communications, and executive search for the public and
not-for-profit sectors.
Established in 2000, the agency has grown to become a £13m turnover firm, and
its founders David Morgan and Simon Law still actively recruit on a day-to-day
basis. Growth has been organic and the founders strive to offer a personalised
and flexible service.

Morgan and Law believe that the public and not-for-profit sector offers
stimulating roles for accountants and finance professionals. Local and central
government, charities and housing associations have all seen structural and
cultural changes, making them challenging commercial career propositions.

The consultancy draws praise for its professionalism, its tailored approach
to clients’ requirements and its thoroughness. One FD said his company had
previously been inundated with inappropriate CVs from other consultancies, but
Morgan Law supplied CVs and candidates tailored to vacancies.

Another client said he had been impressed with the market knowledge of Morgan
Law’s consultants: ‘It has been refreshing to deal with a consultancy that
understands the needs of its clients, which has not been my experience with
other recruitment agencies.’

Morgan Law also likes to take a partnership approach with its candidates. Its
consultants try to develop an understanding of each individual’s career history,
personality and requirements. It also aims to develop long-term relationships by
offering independent salary and career advice, in the belief that, ‘our future
success depends on the value we add today’.

Morgan Law is an approved supplier to the NHS (a status awarded by the NHS
Purchasing and Supply Agency), and has a high profile across the sector.

THE INTERIM SECTOR

Interim management is an increasingly popular destination for seasoned
accountants and one that Morgan Law believes requires special handling. An
interim manager will often be required to handle a difficult and unpredictable
workload and Morgan Law interviews and briefs candidates closely to assess
suitability in this demanding area.
