HMRC calls in consultants for blame game
TS OFTEN TRAWLS the government’s contract and tenders websites. It’s more exciting than trainspotting, that’s our argument anyway.
So TS noted with some interest an £80,000 deal out for tender from the taxman.
“Consultancy services required to conduct Accountability Chain Reviews” is the two-month contract up for grabs.
Is it just TS, or does that sound like HMRC is calling in consultants to help work out who’ll take the blame when things go pear-shaped??
